Title Maintenance Associate (Janitor)

POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking energetic and highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Maintenance Associate. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, flexible and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. The Maintenance Associate will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the facility, including bathrooms, café, playground equipment, party rooms and other public areas, as well as facility maintenance for these areas.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Perform a wide range of cleaning and maintenance duties in accordance with facility procedures, including but not limited to:
      • Gather and empty trash and trash bins
      • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming them
      • Clean, sanitize restrooms and stock them with supplies
      • Clean spills and other hazards with appropriate equipment
      • Clean playground equipment and perform maintenance procedures per facility guidelines
      • Clean and maintain furniture and other public areas as directed
      • Wash windows, walls, and glass and other public areas as needed
    • Perform opening and closing duties according to the facility procedures
    • Perform required light maintenance, such as changing light bulbs, etc.
    • Manage routine upkeep of exterior areas, such as snow shoveling, etc.
    • Keep buildings secure by locking doors
    • Complete non-routine cleaning and maintenance as directed
    • Notify managers when a building needs major repairs
    • Reading and interpreting safety/employment manuals and other work-related documents
    • Ensure the equipment and facilities are kept clean and in accordance with health and safety regulations and facility procedures; and are used in an appropriate way
    • Represent a high-standard of customer service at all times
    • Performing other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Related experience a plus
  • Ability to work and be flexible with all shifts, weekends, holidays and special events
  • Ability to read, speak, write and understand English
  • Ability to maintain high-energy throughout the entire shift
  • Proficient interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities with attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Comply with Personal Appearance and Hygiene policy that presents a professional appearance
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and learns quickly

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Tasting and smelling abilities are required occasionally to distinguish with a degree of accuracy, differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors and/or odors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, water, cleaning detergents, food, paper debris, and hot water.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
